The Cherry Orchard Estate, SE7 Community meets the play The Cherry Orchard written by Anton Chekhov.
About - what is The Cherry Orchard Project?
A theatre project that is open to the whole community of the Cherry Orchard/Peabody estate, and those connected to it, to be a part of.
The project is being facilitated by The Faction - an award winning theatre company based in SE3. Leading the process are Mark and Rachel, the company’s directors.
We will start by looking at the stories of the Cherry Orchard community and then the play The Cherry Orchard (which has themes of family, class, home). Through these theatre workshops we explore what it could mean to weave these stories together co-creating a full production for an audience.
Want to be involved? That might look like acting. But do you sing? Play the drums? Sew? Enjoy storytelling or meeting new people? This project aims to meet you and your interests and build them into the project, whilst supporting participants to learn new skills, make new friends - ask big questions and celebrate the community.
We will be holding a friendly info session in the New Leaf Cafe so you can meet Mark and Rachel and talk and ask questions about the project. There will be cake!
