We are recruiting for two Non- Executive Housing Association Directors to join the board of Charlton Triangle Homes. This is an exciting opportunity to gain board experience and make a real difference to our local community.
Charlton Triangle Homes (“CTH”)
We’re a charitable housing provider in South East London and manage around 1,100 homes across Charlton. We are part of the Peabody Group.
As well as traditional landlord services, Charlton Triangle Homes offers a broad range of additional support to help residents to become more resilient through our New Leaf Advice Centre which is in the heart of our community. Services include help to find work, training, healthy-living advice, counselling, wellbeing programmes, welfare rights, and debt and money advice.
The Housing Association Non - Executive Director role
Housing Association Non- Executive Directors are nominated by Peabody Trust to serve on the Charlton Triangle Homes Board to provide advice, expertise and constructive challenge to the Charlton Triangle Homes board, as well as to exercise Peabody’s vote in meetings.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who share our vision and purpose, who can challenge our team to do better and help to shape the organisation for the challenges ahead. We’d particularly welcome applications from people with experience and skills in any of the following areas – financial and / or business management, housing management, asset management, building safety, governance and charity law, and the environmental and sustainability agenda, However, if you feel you have other skills which may be relevant, we are happy to consider those.
Candidates would ideally have a deep affiliation to the Charlton or Greenwich landscape and community although previous experience in social housing or as a non-Executive director is not a pre-requisite of this role.
Charlton Triangle Homes believe that having a diverse Board with members from all backgrounds will help us make better decisions. This is why we encourage people of all ages and cultural backgrounds to apply.
Housing Association Non - Executive Directors will attend our board meetings around 4 times a year, and make time to read and consider reports and other papers in advance so that they are prepared and informed.
The meetings are usually held in the late afternoon or evenings (although there are occasional longer meetings and events). This means the role can be combined with work and other commitments. You will also need to review papers and make occasional decisions between meetings.
Is the role paid?
The role is not currently paid, although this is currently under active review. Reasonable expenses may be claimed.
Who can apply?
The role is open to anyone except those with certain links to Peabody or Royal Borough of Greenwich. Details are provided in the information pack.
