The over 55s next meeting

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday the 6th March 2012 at 11am at 92a Blaker Court, Fairlawn. This is your opportunity to decide on the future outings and to meet some new friends! Also lunch will be served after the meeting for those attending!

Aerobic sessions

Each Thursday at Mascalls Meeting room from 11am - 12 noon! Each session includes a warm up, some aerobic movement, resistance and mobility workouts and a relaxing stretch-out section to round it all off. Classes are open to men and women and have demonstrated a number of health benefits for those who attend regularly.

Cost: £2 per session payable on the day. If you'd like to come along and have some great fun, and get fit at the same time, then please contact Eva on 020 8319 9266 to apply, or just drop-in at the session.

SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD SURGERIES

The next drop- in sessions with the local police team will be held on Wednesday 7th March 2012 from 12.00 noon to 1.00pm and Wednesday 25th April 2012 from 1.00pm to 2.00pm at our Charlton Triangle Office reception area.

Come along with any issues that you may have in a confidential environment with a friendly police staff or just drop in for a chat!

greenwich credit union

Greenwich Credit Union is a financial service providing low cost loans and savings to Greenwich residents and employees. It has over 10 years experience of providing services to local people and is fully regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

This is how it works: You make a regular saving each week or month and can apply for your loan after you have been saving for 3 months. You can borrow up to 3 times your savings plus £500 if you are saving through standing order payments.

You can withdraw your savings whenever you wish unless you have an outstanding loan in which case you can withdraw any savings in excess of your loan balance. All loans are charged at 1% per month on the reducing balance - well below the rates charged by other landers.

The main attraction is that it is a great way to build up your savings and have access to a cheap flexible loan whenever you need to pay for something special. There are no fees for opening or closing your account or for early repayment of a loan.

In order to be able to apply, you must live orwork in Greenwich borough or Thamesmead. You must be over 16 to join and 18 or over to take out a loan. If you are under 16 you can open a junior savers account.
